SHAMS is a company that specializes in Persian.

Do any of these fit your situation?

The above are just some of the inquiries we have received from customers. At SHAMS, we help customers with various work through our expertise in Middle East languages. Persian is the formal language of Iran. And, as economic sanctions have been gradually removed from Iran since the summer of 2015, albeit gradually, the number of Japanese companies and manufacturers making inroads locally in Iran is increasing. With regard to work in the Persian language, we work across a diverse range of formats, such as translating and editing user manuals and catalogs for export products of manufacturers, pamphlets promoting Japanese culture, politics and economy; translating and editing websites; translating legal documents and company guides; translating official documents (passports, ID documents, etc.) for individual customers, and editing study books and dictionaries.

Ever since founding, we have specialized in translating Middle East languages. The Middle East region is still an unknown quantity in Japan, but, at SHAMS, we have built up a wealth of knowledge and know how on that region and confidentially provide Persian language services that fulfill the hopes of our customers. Please use the “Contact mail” to send us your request.

What is Persian?

Persian is a Middle East language predominantly used in Iran. It is the official language of Iran. As of 2016, Iran's population is approximately 80 million and growing fast, which means the market scale is getting bigger and bigger. Both Persian and Arabic is read from right to left. Both languages are written in almost the same characters - the difference is similar to the difference between Japanese and Chinese characters (including special characters) - so localizing them is extremely difficult.
